A driver was seriously injured Tuesday when a tractor trailer ran off the road and crashed into a creek along I-77 near the North and South Carolina state line.The wreck happened just before 3 p.m. on southbound I-77 near exit 1, which is Westinghouse Boulevard. According to firefighters, the driver was getting onto the interstate from Arrowood Road when he reported feeling lightheaded. He said he did not remember the actual wreck.The truck and flat-bed trailer it was pulling crashed through a guardrail and down into a ravine before coming to rest in the creek.WBTV's Sky 3 was over the scene as crews worked to move the driver on a stretcher from the creek bed back onto the interstate using a ladder truck parked on the bridge. The patient was then loaded into an ambulance and taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
According to Medic, the patient, whose name has not been released, was seriously injured.
