Richmond, IL : Man dies in hospital after motorcycle crash at Richmond on Wednesday 10th August,2016
A 44-year-old Johnsburg man is accused of driving under the influence in connection with a crash Wednesday that left a 26-year-old man in critical condition, police said.
Christian Heaney was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, Richmond Police Lt. Scott Adams said. He was released from McHenry County Jail custody after posting bond Thursday morning, according to jail records.Emergency crews responded to Route 12 just after 6 p.m. near Depot Restaurant for the report of a crash involving a motorcycle and SUV.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man, was taken by Flight for Life to the Level 1 Trauma Center at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He remained in critical condition as of Thursday afternoon, Adams said.Heaney was taken to the Centegra Hospital – McHenry with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.The crash closed Route 12 between Hill Road and where Route 12 turns into Route 31 at Tryon Grove Road.
