Germantown, WI : One dead, one seriously hurt after four-vehicle wreck on US 41/45 near Holy Hill Road on Monday, December 1, 2014
One driver was killed and another was injured Monday in a four-vehicle crash in Germantown, police said.
The crash was reported shortly before noon on U.S. Highway 41 near Holy Hill, Germantown Police Chief Peter Hoell said.
According to Hoell, a utility-style truck was southbound on Highway 41 when traffic began to slow because of construction work further south on the highway.
The driver of the truck suddenly attempted an evasive maneuver, however, the vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the northbound lane, where it collided with a semi-tractor.
The driver of one of the vehicles was killed and the other driver was seriously injured, according to Hoell, who declined to disclose which of the vehicles the deceased driver was operating because the victim's family had not been notified.
A pickup truck and a dump truck also became involved in the crash, however no one else was injured, Hoell said.
The crash caused a spill of about 150 gallons of diesel fuel and 50 gallons of motor oil and closed all or most of the highway for most of Monday afternoon, Hoell said.
