ALBUQUERQUE, NM : 2 children, including infant, killed in DWI crash on Wednesday, 31st March 2021

Albuquerque police are investigating a crash that killed two young children, one of them an infant. Officers believe alcohol is a factor.

APD says the crash happened on I-25 after 3 a.m. They say two women, both 23, were in a car with four children in the back seat.

Police say the driver was heading West on I-40, taking the ramp onto I-25. The car went air-born, then slammed into a cement wall.

"It's a senseless and horrific call that my motor officers and I had to respond to. Please quit drinking and driving people, take care of yourselves and everybody else on the street," said APD Lt. Nick Wheeler.

APD says a little boy and girl were killed in the crash.
