Shawnee, OK : Tecumseh woman dies in Pott. County crash on April, Monday 3rd 2017
A deadly collision on New Hope Road Monday claimed the life of a Tecumseh woman.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released its reported late Monday night. The accident occurred about 4:39 p.m., about one-half mile east of Fishmarket Road in Pink.
Christina Kosemund, 20, Tecumseh was pronounced dead at the scene from internal trunk and leg injuries, the OHP reported.
Trooper Kyle Winrow’s report shows Kosemund was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger westbound on New Hope Road when the pickup went left of center and struck an eastbound 2005 Dodge Durango driven by Cora Masquas, 33, Tecumseh.
Troopers said Masquas was pinned in the wreckage about 20 minutes before being extricated by the Pink Fire Department using the Hurst Tool.
Masquas was transported by REACT EMS ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she was admitted in serious condition with a leg injury, the report shows.
Cause of the collision was listed on the trooper’s narrative as left of center by Kosemund’s vehicle. The trooper noted seat belts were in use by Masquas and airbags deployed in both vehicles.
Assisting Trooper Winrow as the scene was Trooper Nathan Battershell, along with the Pottawatomie County Sherif’s Office, Pink Fire Department and REACT EMS.
