LAURINBURG, NC : Cameron man killed in night accident on U.S. 501 on Sunday, 17th February 2019

The State Highway Patrol has released the name of the victim of a Sunday night motorcycle accident on U.S. 501.
Robert Parker, 71, of Cameron died in the accident, according to a Highway Patrol report.
Parker was traveling north on U.S. 501 along with another vehicle. Investigators are unsure if he merged or swerved right behind the other vehicle, then swerved left in an attempt to not hit the vehicle — or if he was passing the vehicle.
Parker then ran off the road and collided with a tree. He was declared dead at the scene.
