Monett, MO : 5 injured in wreck north of Purdy on Friday, February 10, 2017
Three Monett residents and two Exeter residents were injured Friday in a wreck at 3:50 p.m. on Highway 37, one mile north of Purdy.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Richard Sandlin, 48, of Exeter was driving a 2011 Ford Edge northbound and was stopped in traffic waiting on another vehicle to turn when his car was struck from behind by a 2015 Kia Soul, being driven by Monica Thornburg, 38, of Monett.
Thornburg and one passenger in her vehicle, Heather Cates, 32, of Monett, suffered minor injuries. A third occupant, Danielle Ray, 19, of Monett, suffered moderate injuries. All three were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Cates and Ray by ambulance, and Thornburg by private vehicle.
Sandline and a passenger in his vehicle, Ryan Sandlin, 9, of Exeter, each suffered minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
All involved, except for Cates, were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
