Three people were injured, two of them critically, when they were struck by a car while standing at a north Phoenix bus stop, according to police Sgt. Tommy Thompson.

The collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. Thursday near East Greenway Parkway and North 27th Street, when a 22-year-old woman driving a 2016 Volkswagen GTI tried to make a left turn from 27th Street heading east.

She failed to yield the right of way, and as she was completing the turn, collided with a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by a 56-year-old woman, said Thompson.

The driver of the Nissan veered to the right, left the roadway and collided with three pedestrians waiting at a bus stop on the south side of the road.

The pedestrians, a 24-year-old man, a 46-year-old man, and a 17-year-old boy were taken to the hospital with injuries, said Thompson.
