Suffolk, VA: Tractor-trailer crashes into passenger vehicle on U.S. 58 in Suffolk on Tuesday, July 21st 2015

Two lanes of westbound traffic on U.S. 58 were closed this afternoon after a flatbed tractor-trailer struck a passenger vehicle.Fire rescue workers responded to a call around 1 p.m. at Holland and Kenyon roads.Both vehicles were traveling eastbound when the trailer hit the car from behind, causing it to spin and veer off into a ditch.A woman was extracted from the car and taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.The man driving the tractor-trailer was not injured. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.All lanes were reopened by 2:30 p.m.
