MEDICAL LAKE, WA : Yakima woman dead after Wednesday morning crash on February, Wednesday 14th 2018

A 45-year-old Yakima woman died after the vehicle she was driving left the road, hit a rock and rolled while she was driving in Spokane County.

Tamara Wilkins was westbound around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on Interstate 90 in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer five miles southwest of Medical Lake when when tried to change lanes, but ended up losing control and driving off the road, according to the Washington State Patrol.

After leaving the road, the Trailblazer hit a rock and rolled before coming to rest on its side, troopers said.

Wilkins' two passengers -- 88-year-old Virgina Haas, of Spokane, and 64-years-old Barbara Proffitt, Spokane -- were taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children's Hospital.

Information on their conditions was not immediately available.

Troopers said the crash was caused because Wilkins was driving too fast for conditions. But no citations were issued.
