No injuries in accident with sheriff’s vehicle

An unmarked Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was involved in an accident Wednesday morning when it collided with a Ford Mustang on Regis Street just east of Interstate 27, near the Lubbock County Detention Center.

There were no serious injuries, and neither person was taken to the hospital.

Jeff Newsom with the Lubbock Police Department said the sheriff’s vehicle was going west when the Mustang, going east, turned in front of the vehicle to enter into the Army National Guard building on Regis Street and Cedar Avenue.

Newsom guessed the sun made it difficult to see the oncoming sheriff’s vehicle.
