Joplin, MO : SUV crashes into Joplin store on Monday, July 10, 2017

Joplin police are looking for the driver of a white Chevrolet Trailblazer that smashed through the front of a store Monday afternoon on East 32nd Street.

Capt. Trevor Duncan, with the Joplin Police Department, said the driver involved in the 3:30 p.m. incident backed up and fled the scene after crashing into the Dollar General store at 1221 E. 32nd St. Two store employees were treated for injuries after the accident.

"They both had what appeared to be minor injuries," Duncan said.

The employees were standing with their backs to the front of the store at the time and were struck by flying debris from store shelving and parts of the vehicle, Duncan said. The SUV had pulled into the store's lot and was pulling up to the building when it crashed through the storefront.
