Elko, NV : Passenger killed in alcohol-related crash in Winnemucca on Tuesday, November 15, 2016

A Sun Valley man was ejected from a truck and died in an alcohol-related crash Tuesday in Winnemucca.

According to Trooper Natalie Hernandez, a Dodge pickup was traveling south on Grass Valley Road at around 8:15 a.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

The passenger was thrown from the vehicle. Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a seat belt.

Passenger Andrew Byington, 28, was pronounced dead at Humboldt General Hospital.

The driver, 30-year-old Evan Barto from Winnemucca, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
