PHOENIX, AZ : 2 hospitalized after fiery crash involving red light runner near I-10 in west Phoenix on Thursday, 15th February 2024

Two people were hospitalized early Thursday after a fiery crash involving a fuel tanker truck near Interstate 10 in west Phoenix.The crash happened near the 51st Avenue exit just off the freeway around 2 a.m. According to Phoenix police, the driver of a sedan ran a red light and crashed into a fuel tanker making a turn at the intersection. The sedan then burst into flames seconds after the collision. Crews on the scene confirmed the tanker was empty before the wreck. Two people inside that car managed to get out but still suffered serious injuries, police said. Both were taken to a nearby hospital and are now expected to survive. The truck driver wasn’t injured.
