Wellston ,MO : Multi-vehicle crash causes fatality on Friday afternoon ,July 10th 2015

Emergency crews are responding to a fatal accident involving multiple vehicles Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred on the east bound lanes of the Turner Turnpike around 4:30 P.M. near mile marker 155 just west of Wellston. OHP says at least six vehicles including a semi were involved in the accident. One of the vehicles was pinned down by the semi after the accident.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, one of the drivers involved in the accident died on the scene and another driver was airlifted to a hospital. OHP believes that the semi driver was at fault, and the driver is citing brake failure as a reason for the accident.

Authorities are still on the scene investigating the crash and OHP says one lane of the Turner Turnpike has been re-opened but OHP says it might take all night to clear the entire interstate.

No names or conditions of the other individuals involved have been released.
