PORTLAND, OR : Eastbound I-84 closed due to deadly crash involving pedestrian on Friday, 14th June 2024

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 were closed for several hours Friday morning while police investigated a deadly crash involving a pedestrian.

At about 4:41 a.m., officers responded to a crash on eastbound I-84 just west of the I-205 interchange. Officers arrived to the scene and found a person dead in the roadway.

Police say the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The interstate was closed while police are on scene for the crash investigation. Drivers were being detoured off I-84 at Northeast 68th Avenue onto Northeast Halsey Street to go eastbound.
