Six cars collided, sending eight people to the hospital from an accident on West Chester Pike at Dutton Mill Road at the start of rush hour about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Goshen Deputy Fire Chief Gerry DiNunzio said the patients were taken to Paoli Trauma Center, however, none of the injuries were life-threatening. A number of other motorists stopped to help the injured.
First responding Goshen crews arrived to find patients lying on the road and on the lawn near the wrecked cars, many of which had heavy front-end damage. An ambulance task force was requested to handle all the injuries. Deputy Chief DiNunzio said crew performed well triaging the patients, treating and transporting the most serious injured first.
The cars from the accident were spread across a block of the road. The eastbound lanes of West Chester Pike were blocked by the crash. The westbound lanes were blocked by rescue equipment. Tire marks from one car could be seen across a lawn.
