One person is dead and four people are injured after a collision in Louisville on Friday evening.

Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a report of a fatal wreck about 10:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of Main Street, according to LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley.

A Mustang was driving eastbound on Main Street when a white sedan traveling westbound crossed the center line and collided with the Mustang, Smiley said.

The Mustang then hit a Chrysler that had been driving behind the sedan. The Mustang and Chrysler then struck three parked vehicles, while the sedan fled from the scene, Smiley said.

Two people in the Mustang and two in the Chrysler were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, with one in critical condition. The other three have non-life-threatening injuries, Smiley said.

A backseat passenger of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene.
