Kearney, NE : No serious injuries in crashes on Highway 30 on Tuesday, 20th March 2018
No serious injuries were reported in three separate crashes Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 30 east of Kearney, partially attributed to slick road conditions.
At 6:24 a.m. a 19-year-old man lost control of the 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup he was driving near Lakota Road as he tried to pass a slower moving vehicle. According to Ramey Ristine, a Buffalo County Sheriff sergeant, the pickup slid into the 2005 Grand Prix driven by a 48-year-old man, causing both vehicles to run off Highway 30 to the north.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage.
Fifteen minutes later Buffalo County Sheriff deputies were called to a one-vehicle rollover crash at Keystone Road and Highway 30. Ristine said a 2001 Ford Ranger was traveling west when the 57-year-old male driver lost control and slid off the road north, rolling the pickup.
Only minor injuries were reported.
At 6:49 a.m. a third vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado west traveling west on Highway 30 near Poole Road when the 24-year-old male passenger lost control while passing another vehicle, slid off the road to the south and rolled, Ristine said.
No injuries were reported.
