Detroit Lakes, MN : Osage woman injured in head-on collision on an icy Highway 34 in Becker County on Tuesday afternoon, December 1, 2015
An Osage woman was injured in head-on collision Tuesday afternoon on an icy Highway 34 in Becker County.
Jennifer J. Buhr, 34, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The other driver, David J. Cox, 56, of Detroit Lakes suffered no apparent injuries.
Buhr was eastbound on Highway 34 in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am.
Cox was westbound in a 2011 Ford Econoline van. Both were wearing seat belts.
The Pontiac lost control in the icy conditions and crossed into the westbound lane, crashing into the Ford van head-on, according to the State Patrol.
Buhr was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s for treatment.
The crash was reported at 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 34 and County Road 56.
The Pontiac sustained moderate damage and the Ford sustained minor damage.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, the Frazee police and fire departments, the Minnesota Department of Transportation and St. Mary’s Ambulance.
