Albuquerque, N.M : Pedestrian in critical condition after collision, just north of Mountain on Saturday evening, April 16, 2016

A pedestrian is in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross 12th Street, just north of Mountain, Saturday evening, according to police.

Officer Daren DeAguero said the pedestrian tried to cross between cars in a non-crosswalk area near Rosemont. Police were dispatched to the scene at around 5 p.m.

The roadway was closed for a few hours as officers investigated.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Alcohol was not a factor in the incident, DeAguero said.
