Milton, MA : 18-year-old woman died after being hit by an SUV at Brush Hill Road at Aberdeen Road on Wednesday afternoon, March 9, 2016

State police are investigating a crash in Milton that killed an 18-year-old woman on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said in a statement Wednesday evening that the young woman was crossing Aberdeen Road near Brush Hill Road around 3:30 p.m. when she was struck by a Jeep Wrangler. The initial investigation suggests the Jeep swerved into the median in an attempt to avoid hitting her, police said.

The woman was transported to Boston Medical Center where she later died. Police said the driver, a 44-year-old man from Hyde Park, remained at the scene.

No charges have been filed, but police said the investigation is ongoing to determine if charges are warranted.
