LYNN, MN : Car crashes into bus shelter in Lynn, seriously injuring 2 pedestrians on Tuesday, 9th July 2019
A car crashed into several pedestrians waiting at a bus stop, leaving two people with serious injuries Tuesday afternoon.
A 32-year-old Lynn man lost control of his 2009 Hyundai Accent at about 12:25 p.m. and crashed into a bus shelter on Lynnway northbound near Harding Street, Massachusetts State Police said.
A woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston by medical helicopter. A man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Salem Hospital by ambulance, police said.The driver also received what is believed to be minor injuries. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital by ambulance for an evaluation, police said.
A second driver, a 54-year-old Lynn man, may have also involved in the crash. He was operating a 2009 Nissan Murano SUV and was unhurt in the collision, police said.
Police are continuing to investigate why the car went out of control and whether charges should be filed against either operator. The investigation is being conducted by State Police Troop A, its Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services Section, police said.
