Waukesha, WI : 23-year-old woman died after a fatal crash on Highway 164, north of Sunset Boulevard on Thursday, February 4, 2016

Highway 164, north of Sunset Boulevard, has reopened after a fatal crash.

Police said a 23-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle. She was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The crash happened at about 5:50 p.m. Police received multiple 911 calls after the woman was hit in the intersection.

The striking car remained at the scene, and has major damage to the front windshield.

WISN 12 News reporter Christina Palladino spoke with a man who lives in the apartments across the street. He said people often run across the busy intersection not using the crosswalk.

Police have not yet said how the crash happened.
