MILLS COUNTY, IA : Bellevue motorcyclist dies in head-on crash near Missouri River on Friday, 3rd May 2024

A Bellevue man died in an apparent wrong-way crash on a Mills County road late Friday.

The Iowa State Patrol reports a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by Jacob Saxer, 39, was headed west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 34 around mile marker 1, west of Glenwood, shortly after 11 p.m. A second vehicle, a 2019 Kia Niro, was headed east at the same location. The motorcycle collided with the front of the Kia in what ISP termed a “driver-to-driver style” head-on crash.
