Pittsburg,CA : An Antioch woman died when she was hit by a car on April, tuesday 18th 2017
An Antioch woman died when she was hit by a car following a rear-end collision, police said Tuesday.Kathleen Gomez, 56, died Saturday morning at a hospital after a car going through a green light hit her as she walked just outside the crosswalk at the intersection of Leland and Bailey roads just after 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Pittsburg police Capt. Ron Raman said. She had been a passenger in a car that had been rear-ended minutes earlier.
That rear-end collision happened as the vehicles went east on Leland Road, Raman said, and the driver that came up from behind moved the vehicle to the southwest corner of the intersection after the wreck, away from where the collision happened, Raman said.
Gomez walked over there to exchange information, and as she walked back to the vehicle she was in, another driver turning onto Bailey Road and navigating around the original wreck hit her, Raman said. The driver went through a green light, cooperated, and did not appear to be intoxicated, Raman said.
An ambulance took Gomez to a hospital, where she died.
