Inwood, NY : Two people died in a car wreck on Long Island in Nassau County early Saturday, Nov 28, 2015

Two people died in a fiery Long Island crash early Saturday after their BMW collided with a garbage truck, police said.

The private sanitation truck from D Daniels Contracting was going west on Bayview Ave. when it struck the BMW heading south on Sheridan Blvd. in Inwood about 4:15 a.m., according to Nassau County police said.

The BMW burst into flames and its two occupants were found dead inside when emergency responders arrived on the scene, cops said.

The driver of the sanitation truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, police said.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.
