LOWELL, MA : Motorcyclist injured in crash with SUV in Lowell on April, Monday 3rd 2017

The intersection of West Meadow Road and Varnum Avenue was closed by police Monday night after a collision between an SUV and a motorcycle left a man who was riding the motorcycle with a broken ankle, according to police.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection about 8 p.m., for a report of a two-vehicle crash, and found a man who was riding the motorcycle with the injury to his ankle.

Police kept the intersection closed while they conducted an investigation, but reports on the crash were not yet complete Monday night so additional details were not immediately available, according to Capt. Timothy Crowley.

The driver of the Lexus SUV that was involved remained at the scene.
