BOLTON, CT : First responder struck by vehicle near crash scene in Bolton on Monday, 24th July 2023

A first responder was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic near the scene of an accident in Bolton on Monday evening.

A motor vehicle crash was first reported on Monday night in the area of Rt. 44 and Quarry Road around 5:49 p.m.

Four Bolton Fire Department apparatus responded, assisted by the Coventry Fire Department, according to Bolton Fire Chief Bruce A. Dixon.

One person was transported with injuries to the hospital as a result of the initial crash and they are expected to be fine.
