A Sachse High School student remains in critical condition after a single-car accident Saturday afternoon in west Texas. Dylan Godwin, 15, and his father were involved in an accident near Abilene. Godwin was transported to a local hospital where he underwent brain surgery, said Allison Ray, Godwin’s youth minister. Godwin is tentatively scheduled for a second surgery Tuesday. Doctors hope to stabilize the teen so he can be moved this week to a Dallas hospital, Ray said. Godwin plays for the Sachse football team and is in the Boy Scouts. On Sunday, about 200 people attended a prayer vigil in downtown Garland. “The mood was very somber. A lot of people were nervous and scared,” Ray said. “But there’s faith with an edge of hope.” Godwin is a triplet with two sisters.
