A truck driver was seriously injured Monday in a single-vehicle wreck near the 42-mile marker on northbound Interstate 65.
Thomas M. Peters, 67, of Hamilton, Ohio, was operating a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer in the right lane when witnesses saw his truck exit the right shoulder of the road, according to a Kentucky State Police news release. Peters’ vehicle then proceeded up an embankment, where it struck a tree in a wood line near Hayes Lodge Road. Rain and wet road conditions are considered contributing factors in the crash.
KSP Post 3 in Bowling Green was called to the wreck at 8:48 a.m.
Peters was taken by ambulance to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for treatment of multiple injuries suffered in the collision, according to the release.
