Driver ran into a child and his grandmother near a school bus in Tennesse
A driver hit and seriously injured a young East Tennessee student and his grandmother Thursday morning.
The accident happened in Unicoi County. Authorities say a bus stopped with flashing lights and its stop arm out.
A six-year-old boy and his grandmother tried to cross in front of the bus. That's when a vehicle went by the bus and hit them.
The child suffered a skull fracture and broken leg. Doctors say he is in serious condition and is battling a blood cot. The grandmother had a leg injury and broken legs.
The driver told authorities she did not see the red lights, only yellow ones. She is facing charges for reckless aggravated assault.
