Merritt Island, FL : Bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash in Merritt Island on Sunday night, March 20, 2016

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a bicyclist on Merritt Island Sunday night.

The crash happened at Courtenay Parkway and Alma Boulevard shortly before 10 p.m. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The investigation is ongoing and a description of the vehicle involved has not been released, troopers said.
