Jefferson City, MO : Woman dies in car crash in southern Cole County on Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2014

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that 80-year-old Kathryn Neill died Saturday afternoon after the car she was riding in was involved in a two car accident in southern Cole County. At approximately 12:40 p.m., a 2010 Kia Forte that Neill was riding in crossed into the eastbound lanes of Route C and into the path of a 2001 Ford E250 van driven by Jeffery Kelly from Jefferson City. The van hit the Kia Forte causing it to leave the roadway, travel down a steep embankment and hit several trees on the way down. Neill was taken to Capital Region Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Kia, Sarah Lauf, suffered serious injuries and the other passenger, Hunter Lauf received moderate injuries. Both were transported to Capital Regional Medical Center. Kelly was uninjured. Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt. Source : Jefferson City woman dies in car crash
