A stolen Newport News vehicle crashed in Suffolk Thursday.
Police said officers were notified at 1:46 p.m. of a stolen vehicle traveling westbound on U.S. 58. Officers saw a Dodge Nitro taking the Pitchkettle Road exit. The vehicle then continued onto Kings Fork Road where it ran a red light at the intersection of Pruden Boulevard and U.S. 460 and struck a Jeep Wrangler, causing minor damage to the Jeep.
Immediately following the accident, police said all four occupants of the Dodge Nitro ran away.
Officers were able to apprehend the three males and one female about 100 yards from the accident scene.
Police said there were no injuries and the vehicle was found to have been stolen from Newport News.
The incident is under investigation.
