Las Vegas, NV : Metro officer injured in car crash Tuesday evening on July 22, 2014

A Metro Police officer suffered minor injuries Tuesday evening after his car was involved in a three-vehicle accident.

At about 5:35 p.m., a truck traveling eastbound on Vegas Drive ran a red light at Torrey Pines Drive and hit a car, which then collided with the officer's patrol car, which was stopped at the light, police said.

The driver of the truck, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, was taken to University Medical Center with head injuries, police said.

The officer was transported to UMC with a possible broken hand.

There are no road closures. The crash is under investigation.
