KENTWOOD, MI : Driver arrested after taking off from fatal crash with pedestrian in Kentwood on Wednesday, 26th June 2024

A car struck and killed a man walking across 44th Street Wednesday night, the Kentwood Police Department said.

It happened just after 10:30 p.m. near Walnut Hills Drive.

Police said the 26-year-old pedestrian was trying to cross the road when a car fatally struck him.

Law enforcement said the driver took off from the scene but later returned. Police arrested the driver.
