Kankakee, IL : 71-year-old woman killed in Rt. 115 accident west of Irwin Monday, August 15, 2016

A 71-year-old woman was killed Monday after her vehicle was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 115 a mile west of Irwin.

Juanita M. Tincher, 71, of Kankakee, was killed when the 2014 Dodge van she was driving crashed into a 2014 Mercedes heading southbound on 7000W Road that failed to stop at a stop sign. Pankaj C. Modi, 65, of Oswego, was driving the Mercedes.

The crash sent the two vehicles into the path of an eastbound semi tractor-trailer driven by a 42-year-old man from Buckley.

Tincher was taken to Riverside Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Modi was ticketed for failing to stop at an intersection. Mala P. Modi, 58, was a passenger in his vehicle.

The accident, which occurred at 10:14 a.m., closed the roadway for a few hours.
