HOBART, IN : Suspect in custody after chase ends with crash on Interstate 65 near 49th Avenue on Monday, 25th November, 2019

A vehicle pursuit ended in a crash on Interstate 65 near 49th Avenue around 8 a.m. Monday, police say.

According to Hobart police, the chase began on U.S. 30 by Southlake Mall when officers attempted to stop a silver Chevrolet Impala that matched the description and license plate of a vehicle stolen two days earlier in Hobart.

Instead of pulling over, the driver, a 26-year-old St. John man, headed northbound on I-65 where he apparently lost control of the vehicle, struck a guardrail, and sideswiped a semitrailer and a passenger vehicle, police said.
