Victoria, TX : Two people injured in US 59 crash on Wednesday night, July 27, 2016
Two men were injured Wednesday night when their white Chevrolet Tahoe jumped a guard rail on U.S. Highway 59 about 9:45 p.m.
Victoria resident David Thompson, 25, and his unidentified passenger were taken to Citizens Medical Center for treatment, said Trooper Jeremiah Collins of the Department of Public Safety.
The Tahoe crashed into the outside guardrail on the northbound highway lanes about 2 miles north of Telferner before rolling about 30 feet down an embankment. The men were arguing while driving, causing the vehicle to be "all over the road," Collins said.
Marijuana paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle, and the driver is being investigated for driving while intoxicated, Collins said.
The vehicle had apparent roof damage and came to rest in a grassy ditch near a railroad track.
Although both men were conscious and breathing after the wreck, emergency responders used a stretcher to remove the passenger from the vehicle.
