Oklahoma City, OK : Spencer man killed in tricycle crash on Northeast 23rd Street early Friday morning, January 1, 2016

A 48-year-old Spencer man was killed when a wrecker truck and a tricycle collided early Friday morning, Midwest City police said.

Johnny Ray Johnston was riding west around 12:45 a.m. in the 2300 block of Northeast 23rd Street in Oklahoma City when the truck struck his tricycle, police said.

Johnston had the right of way, but was difficult to see because he was not wearing anything reflective and there was poor visibility in the area, police said.

Johnston died at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center a few hours later.

Midwest City police are investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
