Phoenix, AZ : Motorcylist, 58, killed in collision in SE Valley on Saturday, February 25th 2017

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday evening in the Southeast valley, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

A car had made a left turn in front of the motorcycle when the collision occurred near Power and Guadalupe Roads near Gilbert, said MCSO spokesman Sgt. Calbert Gillett.

The motorcyclist, Steven Slager, 58, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, he said.

Gillett said Slager was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and that no impairment was detected from the vehicle driver.

It was not immediately known if any charges would be made in the incident.
