Cincinnati, OH : Woman struck by car, killed crossing street in Woodlawn on Monday, December 14, 2015

A Cincinnati woman was hit by a car and killed while crossing the street in Woodlawn on Monday.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's office, Denise Sanders, 38, was struck by Desmond Layne, who was driving on Springfield Pike near W. Fountain Avenue just after 6 p.m. The area where the incident occurred is not lit by street lights.

The Village of Woodlawn Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene. Sanders was taken to Bethesda North Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police reported that speed, alcohol and drugs were not factors.

The incident is under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
