Alcohol might have played a part in a crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl Wednesday night in this Lorain County community.
Danielle K. Eckert, of Columbia Station, was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer east on on Capel Road at 9:13 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and hit the tree. She was transported by Grafton Fire and EMS to the University Hospital Elyria Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead by the Lorain County coroner.
