Belleville, IL : Five people injured after 3-vehicle crash at 161 and Frank Scott Parkway Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2016

Five people were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash at Illinois 161 and Frank Scott Parkway, the Belleville Fire Department said.

The crash, which was called in about 2:05 p.m. involved an Expedition, a Chevy HHR Crossover, and a Chevy sedan, said Fire Chief Tom Pour.

The Expedition suffered heavy passenger side damage; the HHR had side damage, and the Chevy sedan had heavy front-end damage, Pour said.

“It was a pretty substantial accident,” Pour said.

Pour did not have conditions of those involved in the crash, but said, “they didn’t have any obvious traumatic injuries.”

He added he didn’t know about possible internal injuries.

There were three people in the Expedition, and one person each in the HHR and Chevy sedan, Pour said.
