SUMTER, SC : 12-year-old child is now second victim from deadly weekend crash in Sumter on Sunday, 27th October 2024

The South Carolina Highway Patrol now says a 12-year-old has died from injuries in a crash that happened around the same time and the same area as a crash that took the life of a 15-year-old.

Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker confirmed Tuesday that 12-year-old Basir Wells died Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at the Medical University in Charleston.
