Vallejo, CA : Driver serious condition in vehicle crash Sonoma Boulevard on Monday December 7 2015
One man was sent to the hospital in serious, but stable condition after being ejected from his vehicle following a collision on Sonoma Boulevard on Monday afternoon.
Vallejo officers received a call at about 1:35 p.m. about a vehicular crash in the area of Sonoma Boulevard and Lewis Brown Drive, just outside the Denny's restaurant.
A witness said that a white BMW sedan was heading southbound on Sonoma Boulevard when a brown Toyota truck pulled out of the Denny's driveway to head northbound on the street.
The BMW hit the truck head-on and the impact caused the driver of the truck to be ejected from his vehicle through the passenger side door, police said.
Emergency responders treated the pickup truck driver, who was seen bleeding from his head and hands as paramedics worked on him.
The driver was transported to NorthBay Medical Center for his injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries and was taken to a local area hospital. His passenger did not sustain any injuries, firefighters said.
Sonoma Boulevard was closed off to traffic outside of the Denny's restaurant in both directions, and rerouted cars to other streets during the crash investigation.
