A truck driver who ran a red light and caused a crash that closed down traffic for hours Friday along Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 441) at Sadler Avenue just north of Zellwood might be part of a bigger problem, authorities said.
Channel 9's Janine Reyes learned that the trucking company, Y and D Trucking, based in Miami, has some safety ratings that fall far below the national average.
"The tractor-trailer veered to the left after impact," FHP Trooper Wesley Harsey said. "The load shifted, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn in the left lane."
The crash involved the big rig, which was filled with construction debris, and a pickup truck.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Kenny Acosta, 31, of Miami, was taken to Florida Hospital Waterman with minor injuries.
