Tallahassee, FL : A single-car accident in Alachua County on Sunday, December, 17th 2017

A man from New York died early Saturday morning in a single-car accident in Alachua County when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Charles Lutwiller, 63, of Hilton, New York, was traveling south in a 2004 Saturn Ion in the outside lane of US 301 north of 203rd Street when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a driveway, causing the vehicle to go airborne. The car then overturned and hit a tree before coming to rest on its side.

Lutwiller was pronounced dead at the scene by Alachua County Fire Rescue.
