Six people were injured Sunday after a serious two-vehicle crash in the 2100 block of Harrison Street in Davenport.
At 11:58 a.m. Sunday, Davenport Police/Fire and Medic EMS responded to the area of High Street and Harrison, as a result of the crash of an eastbound Ford truck on Rogalski Drive/High Street, crossing Harrison, and a southbound Buick passenger car. The Buick struck the left side of the truck as it crossed the road, according to a Davenport police news release.
The driver (an adult male) of the truck sustained minor injuries, and all five occupants of the Buick were hospitalized after the accident, police said, without providing names of those involved.
The driver (adult male) was taken to Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport, with serious injuries. The front passenger (adult female) was taken to Genesis East with serious/life-threatening injuries, police said, noting she was transferred to University Hospitals, Iowa City, and is in critical condition.
The rear right passenger (adult female) and middle passenger (a 10-year-old girl) were taken to Genesis East with serious injuries, and the rear left passenger (14-year-old boy) was taken to Genesis East with serious/life-threatening injuries, police said, noting he also was transferred to University Hospitals, Iowa City, and is in critical condition.
The incident is under investigation by the Davenport Police Traffic Safety Unit; the police did not have further information to release later Sunday.
